And God said, let there be light!!!
Those words are profound and have a much deeper meaning than you think.
This will be the shortest post I’ve ever written, but I don’t deal in memes. Knowledge is important to me, and it was important to God as well. Short one or two sentence memes don’t convey knowledge, and it is a sad testament to mankind in our time that we resort to such trivial ways of trying to impart important information in one or two sentences. Knowledge is important. How important you ask. Let God tell you:
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4: 6
The bible is said to be the word of God. I don’t have a single solitary doubt that is true. No doubt. None!!!
It has nothing to do with being indoctrinated into a belief. I need proof if I am to believe something is true. One could say I need knowledge. And so, given that, I have asked God over the course of my adult life to give me that knowledge if He is really there. I would say help me understand these things, Lord. How can you be everywhere at once? How can you know every person’s thoughts? Where do our thoughts come from? How can you know the future? How can you bring fire down from heaven? How can you part the seas? How can you turn water into wine?
The bible says seek and you shall find:
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7: 7
Well, as I said I have asked, and it turns out verse 7 of Matthew 7 is true as I did seek, and I did find. The answers to those questions I had didn’t consist of a one sentence meme though. God told me to study light, and if I did study light, I would have the answer to all my questions. Well, I did study light. It wasn’t easy to gather all the knowledge I needed in order to understand. It took years of study, but slowly the pieces began to fit together for me.
I’m not going to teach you about light though. That’s on you if you care to know. But I will tell you this one thing about light. Without light there would be no atoms, and without atoms there would be no matter of any kind. I’ve made this point over and over again and people just shrug their shoulders. Here’s the point. We know today that a particle of light is the only thing that keeps an atom in orbit. Without that very tiny light particle’s energy there would be no atoms, and that means there would be no earth, no solar system, no animals, no plants, no trees, no oceans, no you. There would be no physical matter at all. It would be just like the bible describes the beginning in the first two sentences of the bible:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Then God added the third sentence of the bible:
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
That third sentence is perhaps the most profound and compelling truth found in the entire bible that proves irrefutably that God exists, and the bible contains His word. Without light particles nothing material would exist.
Of course, we didn’t understand that for 6,000 years. It is only in the last 100 years that science has discovered the nature of light and the fact that our physical existence is totally dependent on light particles being absorbed by electrons that allows the atom to exist. That is an irrefutable scientific fact and is fully supported by the words of God found in the bible.
Another profound truth is found in the Book of Daniel:
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Make of that what you will, but don’t shrug your shoulders as if it isn’t important. God thought it was important or He wouldn’t have started the bible by saying “let there be light.” For 6,000 years we didn’t understand, but God told Daniel we would gain knowledge in the time of the end and so we have. And, given that we now have that knowledge we can know we must be living in the time of the end. I have no doubt - none at all - that we are indeed living in the time of the end, but that too is a subject not many understand. What is the time of the end? If you don’t know you should find out. Your eternal soul is at risk if you live through the time of the end without the knowledge the bible gives us about these times.
I feel like shouting to the rafters and telling people to wake up, to study, to learn the bible, to learn about the times we are living in, and to prepare yourself for these times as the bible tells us they will be perilous times. Times, we are told, that were they not cut short even God’s elect would be at risk of losing their salvation.
Don’t just shrug your shoulders. Get busy and learn what the bible says. Your eternal soul is at stake and God wasn’t kidding when he said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
